The Next (and hopefully last) Chapter

We just left the panhandle of Florida where we had a wonderful time with Mama Tess and Papa Ben (Nat’s parents), and also James, Terra, Hannah, and little Benjamin (Nat’s brother and family).  It was definitely a bittersweet time as we know we will not see them for a while.  We are now spending 4th of July weekend with my big brother Scott and his lovely wife, Sarah.  They are extremely hospitable.

On Monday, we hopefully will reach Oahu to begin the next chapter of our lives.  Right now I am scheduled to preach twice in July at Kailua Baptist Church, where I hope to serve as interim pastor for the next few months.  Our goal is to find a church that we could serve in permanently, to preach and teach God’s Word, and to love people with the love of Christ.  We also hope to have Grace stay with us for the rest of the summer, and hope that she eventually chooses to live with us, so that we could bring her up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.  3 Prayer requests:

  • Although God often moves people from place to place, we hope God would plant us at a church where we could serve until we die.
  • I have been apart from my daughter more than I have been with her, but we love her so much and I know what is best for her is for her to be in a home where people will teach her about the supremacy of Jesus Christ; and I would do my best to make that happen if she lived with us.
  • Please pray that we could have our own children.

May all these requests and the meditations of our hearts please our Lord.

  1. Thanks for the update, Todd. Andrea and I will be praying for you guys. Thanks for sharing your heart so clearly in those requests.

  2. Todd,
We love you guys and are so thankful to the Lord for you. We will pray that the Lord will unleash within you a hot and holy hunger for more of Christ. May you run with reckless abandon after the One who is worthy of all worship.

    • Matt, thank you for your prayers and encouragement. It has been good to also read about how your preaching and travels have gone. God is using you across the nation right now, brother!
